He was a member of the American Legion Post #58 he was also a volunteer for the Telephone Pioneers of America and President of the Blue Valley Sashays Square Dance Club. Gary was an active member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God in Overland Park, Kansas. He enjoyed working part time after retirement at Blockbuster and Dobble's Hardware Store.
